My Stage, My Night. Sky Garden, London.

SAMSUNG CSC

I had a chance attend a party at Sky Garden in London.  It was a busy, but nice space with a live band.  I captured the singer from behind the stage with Lensbaby 2.0.  Focus is little off, but I like the image.

This little lens is cheap, takes unique photos, and provides me with little joy in taking pictures.

Wet Autumn Day

spider-web

October 2014

Captured a spider web during a walk in the neighborhood with Lensbaby and macro converter.  I love this little lens, Lensbaby 2.0, which I can bend and select an area of focus.  It is a cheap piece and available for about $50 USD used on eBay.  Yes, it takes little practice, patience, and learning.  But it gives me some creative ideas and interesting pictures.

This little lens is cheap, takes unique photos, and provides me with little joy in taking pictures.
This allows Lensbaby lenses/optics to get closer for macro like photos.

I got to walk around London during my business trip there.  London is an interesting city with historical buildings and new contemporary architectures.  Captured iconic Big Ben.

Antelope Canyon - Arizona is another famous and popular photo spot in Southwest region of the United States.  It is just located east of Paige, Arizona.  Along with Horse Shoe Bend I visited, Antelope Canyon was one of the places I wanted to visit and take photos.

Photo Ops: Sunrise in Budapest Hungary

Sun coming up behind Hungarian Parliament building. Taken from Buda Castle. March 2014

Budapest Hungary is one of my favorite cities to visit in the world and make photography.  It has history, interesting architecture, and safe enough to walk around with heavy camera gear early in the morning or late at night. Also, it is simply beautiful.

horse-shoe-bend

I am sure a lot of you have seen pictures similar to ones here.  Yes, Horse Shoe Bend is one of the most iconic images in US, and thousands and thousands of people have photographed them and uploaded their images everywhere online. But I had to see it in person and capture it myself.

DIY Cardboard Camera ~Videre and Viddy~

When I got into building DIY cameras, I spent good amount of time search on the web for my next project.  There were a lot of instructions on matchbox pinhole cameras.  But cardboard HasselBlad pinhole camera caught my attention.

DIY TLR film Camera ~GakkenFlex~

I was always a big fan of the look of TLR cameras. So when I first saw Gakkenflex DIY TLR kit from well-known educational publisher called Gakken in Japan, I was really excited. In fact, this was the first DIY camera kit I bought. I liked it so much that I painted and put leather cover as well.

DIY Camera Kit ~Lomography Konstruktor~

Another awesome DIY camera kit is Konstruktor from Lomography. Lomography is known for its legendary medium format toy camera Diana and Holga. Lomography also makes pretty interesting cameras. Though Konstruktor is a DIY camera kit, it is definitely a solid film camera and fun to build.  I would say it was one of the easiest DIY camera kit to build.

Still the coolest iPhone case ~ Gizmon iCA ~

People have said and many would agree, the best camera is the one that's with you. (Surprisingly, there is a book with the exact title: http://amzn.to/1PcD6xi) Smartphones have made taking much easier, and the quality of pictures have improved a lot over the years. Also, with the abundance of apps and improvements made with AI, taking and editing pictures into unique piece of art/expression made photography accessible and more attractive to many. But I was not a big fan of smartphones and did not convert to it until 2010~2011.
