Antelope Canyon - Arizona is another famous and popular photo spot in Southwest region of the United States. It is just located east of Paige, Arizona. Along with Horse Shoe Bend I visited, Antelope Canyon was one of the places I wanted to visit and take photos.
Antelope Canyon is located in Navajo land, and there is Upper Canyon and Lower Canyon. I only had the chance to visit the Upper Canyon. Since Antelope Canyon is in the protected land, it was necessary to take a guided tour in order to get into the canyon (Photographer tour is available as well). Capturing a good shot of the beam of light through canyon is somewhat of a luck due to the weather condition (have to be sunny) and people not getting in the frame. There are many tour groups and photographers/tourists in the canyon, and it is not easy to take shots without people stepping into the frame.
As you can search a lot of beautiful pictures of Antelope Canyon, it is beautiful and majestic. Being able to capture your own images is exciting for sure; however, it is in a way disappointing as well. In order to make the beam of the sunlight little more visible, tour guides throws sand up in the air. Also, there are simply too many tourists and photographers in the canyon to really enjoy the scenery or even capture images.
