Welcome to mybeloved.camera!!! I am an amateur photographer. I love taking photos, but also love cameras from the latest digital cameras to antique analog cameras to DIY toy cameras and anything in between. I wish to share my love and joy of playing with cameras. While my blogs may lead to product pages on merchants and I may receive small commissions if you purchase items through my links, my blogs are based on my own personal opinion.
Here are my gears at this point as of August 2023.
Cameras
My main camera since 2022. While I was satisfied with 5D Mark III, this R5 blew me away!!!
This has been an absolute tank for me that changed my photographic journey!
My main film camera. Since it uses EF lenses, I can use lenses I use for 5D III.
My action camera/video camera.
Solar/USB powered toy digital camera. Sometimes I take this out for a walk. At this point, it has been discontinued and it is difficult to find one, except on eBay.
My first medium format TLR camera. I have always loved the look of these cameras.
Fully manual medium format camera. This is a pretty heavy camera, and it mostly sits on a shelf.
Legendary DIY toy camera. This originally came as a kit for a Gakken magazine.
Interchangeable lens DIY 35 mm film camera. It has a slider to let some light into the film for unique photos.
DIY toy camera from Lomography. It is solidly built. It had a limited edition translucent one as well.
Lenses
This was a kit lens that came with R5. Until I get 24-70mm 2.8, this will be my walk around lens.
A long zoom lens for taking pictures of my kids playing soccer.
As I need to slowly switch over to RF system, this allows me to use EF lenses on R5.
This was a kit lens that came with Canon 5D III. While F2.8 would have been great, F4 serves me fine for the price. This has been the main walk around lens with 5D. It also has macro mode which made this a pretty versatile lens.
This was a lens I purchased to photograph my kids playing soccer. While they were little and playing on smaller fields, this lens worked well. Version 2 came out in 2018 and the link to Adorama below leads to the newer version.
I owned a nifty fifty (50mm 1.8) which worked well. But I wanted full time manual focus and upgraded to this one
Unique lens I can bend. I owned the original Lensbaby, Lensbaby Composer, Composer Pro, and EF mount for Composer Pro II. Now I own R5, I upgraded to RF mount. I have Sweet 50mm, Edge 50mm, and Fish Eye optics as well.
Multiple aperture pinhole lens. Constructed with aluminum and has filter thread. I supported this on Kickstarter because of the solid construction and filter thread
Another Kickstarter project I supported. The difference between the one above is this one has only one aperture and wider angle.
Accessories:
Found this one on Kickstarter. Pretty big camera backpack. What I like about this one is it is modular system where I can change inserts depending on my needs of the day. I use Mk-! camera case. It is little on the heavier side.
Probably 2 or 3 general old mid range speedlite. It does not see too much usage at this point.
My trusty camera strap. Yes it is expensive for a strap.
My main tripod. While it is light with carbon fiber, it is also sturdy. The center column can be taken out and put on horizontally as well.
My trusty monopod I use to take photos of my kids playing soccer. It is lightweight and solid holding R5 with 100-500mm
An absolute must have for photographers in the Pacific Northwest with the long rainy winter. This covers R5 with 100-500mm fully extended providing little more comfort in taking photos in the rain.
Maybe relatively unknown manufacturer. But it is solidly built, lightweight, but load capacity is much higher than more expensive ballheads out there.
Luminar has been my go to software for editing. It also can be used as a plug in for Adobe Photoshop.
